Swim Deep melden sich mit ihrer neuen Single „How Many Love Songs Have Died In Vegas?“ zurück. Die am 21. Februar veröffentlichte Single ist der erste Track aus dem kommenden neuen Album There’s A Big Star Outside…, das von Bill Ryder-Jones produziert wurde und am Freitag, den 7. Juni auf Submarine Cat Records erscheinen wird.
Das Album There’s A Big Star Outside… läutet nach der engen Zusammenarbeit mit dem beliebten Solokünstler und Produzenten Bill Ryder-Jones eine kreative Reinkarnation ein. Mit ihrem bisher rohesten, gefühlvollsten und reifsten Werk stehen sie nun an der Schwelle zu etwas Vertrautem und doch völlig Neuem: eine Swim Deep-Platte, die das selbstbewusste, erfahrene Territorium betritt, das man als Zwanzigjähriger mit großen Augen einfach nicht beanspruchen kann.
THE DANDY WARHOLS geben die Veröffentlichung ihrer neuen Single „Danzig with Myself“ mit Pixies-Frontmann Frank Black bekannt, die am 16. Januar via Sunset Blvd. Records erscheinen wird.
Dank des unnachahmlichen Frank Black, der eine kräftige Dosis Pixies-Falsetto beisteuert, kreischt „Danzig with Myself“ wie ein Chevy Nova auf Tour. Dank Peter Holmströms Gitarre, die von einer stabilen und schweren Rhythmusgruppe aka Zia McCabe’s tiefem Bass und Brent DeBoer’s entschlossenem Takt untermalt wird, ist Taylors Gesang wie ein Laserpointer auf Beton gerichtet. Obwohl sich Blacks Gesang fast grundlegend für den Song präsentiert, war seine Beteiligung nur zufälliger Natur. „I was just checking in with him, and he happened to be in Zürich“, erinnert sich Taylor – Taylor. „I hooked him and some of his family up with some very interesting museum tours first, then I asked him if he would play on our record.“ Das Ergebnis? Natürlich hat er’s getan!
Heute veröffentlicht der gefeierte New Yorker Elektronikmusiker, Produzent und Aktivist Moby zusammen mit Brie O’Banion eine Downtempo-Bearbeitung des Cream-Songs „We’re Going Wrong“.

Die Idee zu einer Mobyesken Version von „We’re Going Wrong“ entstand vor einigen Jahren beim Durchstöbern alter Vinylplatten. Moby bereitet sich gerade darauf vor, einige der Sammlerstücke an das Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine zu verkaufen, als er auf den vom Bassisten Jack Bruce geschrieben Cream-Song stieß. Moby erinnert sich: „I was struck by how plaintive and beautiful it was, and how sadly germane it was for the current moment. I wrote a downtempo version of the song and asked my friend Brie O’Banion to sing it, and her voice brought a wonderful beauty and depth to it
New Yorker Elektronikmusiker, Produzent und Aktivist Moby zusammen mit J.P. Bimeni den anregend, gefühlvollen Track + Video „Should Sleep“, das ab sofort via Moby’s neues Labels Always Centered At Night überall erhältlich ist.
Should Sleep“ verkörpert die unbeschwerte Freude, die man empfindet, wenn man sich nach Mitternacht auf einer Tanzfläche unter Fremden wiederfindet. Moby erinnert sich an die Entstehungsgeschichte des Tracks: „After disco died in the late ’70s, and before house music took the world by storm in the late ’80s, New York was home to an underground dance music scene that was curated and maintained by revered DJs like Larry Levan and David Mancuso. As a punk rocker in the early ’80s, I went out to clubs like Great Gildersleeves and the Ritz to see bands like Black Flag and Bad Brains.“ Schließlich entdeckte Moby neue, versteckte Underground-Clubs wie das Fallout Shelter, Am/Pm, The Loft und Paradise Garage, wo er mit Underground-Tanzmusik wie ESG, Lolleata Holloway, den Peech Boys, People’s Choice, Cheryl Lynn, Manu Dibango und unzähligen anderen in Berührung kam.
Lone Aires the moniker of 25 year old Miguel Aires Haink, grow up in the industrial city of Mannheim began making music as a teenager. Influenced at the time by grunge and indie he went on to form a band with his brother which lead him to composing and producing his own music in his self built studio in a local garage.
Lone Aires makes music that contacts a certain euphoria but also feels very calm and collective. Speaking about the new single and what its about he goes on to explain…

MInimal Schlager return to follow up their critically acclaimed debut album “Love, Sex & Dreams” with a new single, a synth-tactic cover of the Beatles classic “Tomorrow Never Knows”
Minimal Schlager, the duo made up of siblings Francisco and Alicia are based in Berlin and London respectively but still manage to regularly perform across UK and Europe and were also showcasing at SXSW in 2022.
„We tried to be loyal to Tony Hall’s words about the original in 1966… „Sound-wise, it’s like an hypnotically horrific journey through the dark never-ending jungle of someone’s mind … And the effect is of shapes and sounds and colours looming over and above one and zooming in and out of a monotonous drone.“
Though knowing each other since birth the two formed the band Minimal Schlager during the pandemic in 2020, performing where ever they could and writing songs together.
The duo were signed by Berlin’s Duchess Box Records in 2020, releasing their debut EP „Voodoo Eyes“ before releasing their debut album Love, Sex and Dreams“ in 2022.
Minimal Schlager have a darkness to their synth pop songs, influenced by Italo Disco and 80s synth pop bands. Minimal Schlager sound like they would belong on any David Lynch soundtrack
Deathsport release their new single Me Person on 15th March. Their first single since signing to Berlin’s Duchess Box Records.
Deathsport are a band of brothers comprising of Mike and Tom Zitzelsberger Heavily influenced by Dreampop/ Shoegaze artist during most of their teenage years, they started experimenting with different names, styles, projects and approaches. They joined bands, worked as producers and even wrote songs for other artists until eventually finding back to why they have made music in the first place: A love for nostalgia, simple- structured and chanson-styled writing in search for something unique.
The duo who are Munich based were picked up by Duchess Box Records after releasing a string of self released singles which caught the attenton of the press with some great features in magazines such as C-Heads, Wonderland, Diffus,Indie Shuffle and many more.

Akemi Fox ist eine der alternativen R&B-Künstlerin aus Manchester, die an die goldenen Stimmen von Trickys Schützling Martina Topley Bird und Skye Edwards von Morcheeba erinnert.
Das Video zum Fall Back AMA-Remix wurde von Moby und Mike Formanski gedreht und zeigt Akemi Fox in einer Atmosphäre, die eine Metropole mitten in der Nacht ausstrahlt. Es ist eine endlose Träumerei, die sich durch ein Betonlabyrinth schlängelt.
„One of my great joys is not just hearing new, amazing singers, but also being able to work with new, amazing singers like Akemi“, sagt Moby.
„It was really exciting working with an icon like Moby. It was fun to explore a different sound to what I’m used to, and I think it’s something people won’t expect from me!“ fügt Fox hinzu.
Akemi Fox hatte in den letzten Jahren bereits viel Erfolg mit ihren Veröffentlichungen – ihre Debüt-EP Colour You In festigte im Jahr 2020 ihren Platz in der britischen Szene. Seitdem hat die Singer-Songwriterin eine Reihe von gut aufgenommenen Singles veröffentlicht und ihre zweite EP ist in Vorbereitung. Sie war auch auf Balance, dem zweiten Album des Hip-Hop/Soul-Duos Children Of Zeus aus Manchester zu hören und unterstützte sie bei ihren Shows im Oktober 2021 und im März dieses Jahres. Kürzlich feierte sie zwei Debüt-Headline-Shows im Oktober und wird im November als Support von Kojey Radical in der Manchester Albert Hall auftreten.
Moby startete sein neues Label Anfang des Jahres mit dem Ziel, etwas Kompromissloses zu machen – Musik, die emotional, atmosphärisch und potenziell schön ist. Mit diesem Ethos brachte das Label sein Debüt „Medusa“ heraus, eine Zusammenarbeit zwischen Moby und der Grammy-nominierten Künstlerin und Doja Cat-Kollaborateurin Aynzli Jones.
Always Centered at Night zielt nicht darauf eine Billion Streams auf Spotify zu bekommen, und es gibt einen konstanten Subtext in der DNA des Labels: Moby’s große Verachtung für das, was er „our current, fear-driven, algorithmic-based culture“ (Deutsch: unsere aktuelle, angstgetriebene, auf Algorithmen basierende Kultur) nennt. Das Label wird eine neue Art von Plattenlabel sein, das diese Idee komplett ignoriert.
